PlayStation 5 Sort of Review – How is it 3 months in?
Looking around for what to review, and my eyes kept focusing on my PlayStation 5. OK, it was because I just wanted to kick back and play games, but while I am trying to write up PC guides, I thought why not review this console? So after a film review that wasn’t a review, welcome to a console review that isn’t quite a review either!
Immortals: Fenyx Rising Review
Board games have a category called Gateway Games. These are light, easy to learn games that introduce new players to mechanics used in heavier games. Immortals: Fenyx Rising is the closest I have seen to a gateway video game, a great introduction to open-world exploration RPGs. This accessibility does have a cost for experienced players though.
Cyberpunk 2077 Review
So now that the issues are out of the way, today I talk about the actual game Cyberpunk 2077. Just the gameplay, and no story spoilers. If you are curious to know what the game is like to play, this is the review for you!
Bugsnax Review
When I saw the Bugsnax trailer in the PS5 showcase earlier this year, I was intrigued. While I haven’t played Octodad, Young Horses previous game, I am aware of its almost cult status. And getting the game included with PlayStation Plus meant that I just had to play it! What did I think? Well, that’s what the review is for!
Marvel’s Spider-Man (and Remastered) Review
The good part about being on holidays – I have time to rest and play games! The better part is I have time to write about them! Reviews are back, and hopefully will remain a weekly feature again
Minesweeper Genius Review
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in Last Week’s Gaming, I picked up a very cheap Minesweeper game on the eShop. I thought “It’s only a dollar. Might be OK.”
Well, fair to say Minesweeper Genius has surprised me a lot. And I think it will surprise you as well.
The Outer Worlds Review
I’ve talked about it long enough, and here it is – my review of The Outer Worlds. I don’t go deep into gameplay, but I have a bit to say about the Switch port – mainly I don’t seem to have the same problems others have. I suspect it’s my SD card? I talk about it in the review.
Have a great weekend everyone!
The Card: Poker, Texas Holdem, Blackjack, Page One Review
So I didn’t get to play much Outer Worlds this week, so that review is still a little ways away. But I did pick up a new game for the Switch on sale. It won’t be for everyone, but if you enjoy playing Poker, Texas Holdem, Blackjack and/or Page One but don’t like playing online, then The Card may be a game for you.
It does give The Game a run for its money as the worst searchable game title though! Seriously, who thought that finding The Card Switch would show this title?
Blood Rage Digital Edition Review (and physical game thoughts)
As I wrote last week, I was really excited Blood Rage was getting a digital implemntation. After having a few games up my sleeve both physical and digital, I thought it was time for a full review. At it’s heart, Blood Rage has been faithfully translated from it’s physical form.
But be warned – if you are playing solo, there are some quirks for the developers to sort out still. If you are playing multiplayer, there are many more severe issues to be sorted.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Review
So as you would have seen in Last Week’s Gaming, I have been hitting the old Animal Crossing: New Horizons. First as a diversion, but the lure has definitely worked. The relaxing cutesy life simulator is everything I thought of the series, and more. Tom Nook is definitely a master manipulator
Have a great weekend everyone
