Well it’s getting into crunch time
June is my busiest time of year. End of financial year bites in terms of workload and general energy required just to be.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get in any tabletop gaming this week, but I did relax with a couple of digital diversions.
But not Void Bastards. Yet. Maybe Wednesday.
Final Fantasy X
Finally on the final steps of the hand holding parts of the game. My party has arrived in Luca, and I think I am about an hour away (depending on mucking about) before my first blitzball tournament!
On a side note, I recently got my PS Vita working again and I was wondering if I should play the two games side by side and see how they fare.
Then common sense kicked in because this was late night John thinking and I have a bunch of other games I want to start getting through!
It’s one of life’s little mysteries how a game so chaotic and stressful can be so relaxing.
Playing a couple of rounds of Tetris 99 is a kind of barometer for how I am doing. If I can’t make it out of the bottom 20, it’s time to pack up and rest. Everything else can wait.
If I am making it into the top 10 regularly, everything is firing and I should be doing something productive.
While I enjoyed winning the game boy theme, I am not sure I will be keeping it though. Retro wise I love it, the original theme seems to feel better though.
I have started playing with the Zombicide app, and early impressions are OK. Not great, not bad, certainly solo it’s a more streamlined experience – but not a game I would yet be saying go out and try.
Originally I had the thought to show the board game next to the digital app. I thought I could show the similarities of the games along with digital streamlining.
Instead, I think I will be able to use the app to show why I have become wary of CMON Kickstarters and their sales model. We will see where I landed in a couple of weeks.
Geeky cabinet fun
I can hear you asking “You played a game with a cabinet? Is this a VR thing?”
Nope. But people that have come over to my place have seen the amount of knick-knacks I have accumulated over time. One of the things Rabbit was looking forward to when I moved in was combining our stuff into the cabinet(s?) of geek, and the first one has come along brilliantly.
We got the lighting 99% finished over the weekend, just setting up a proper power source remains.
No gameplay reviews, no real reason other than I think it looks really cool light up. In the shadow, you can barely see the Lyin’ Werewolf plushy, but there are other additions still to come.
Over the next few weeks, there will be other bits of finished areas to continue to proudly show off 😀
