Sea of ???
So I still haven’t been able to play Sea of Thieves. Day one I knew that I wouldn’t be able, but it’s on my PC ready to go! Last night I tried to jump in, and after about 20 minutes trying to log in I just gave up.
Rare is on it and trying to be supportive and helpful:
We've posted a #SeaOfThieves Launch Status article featuring today's Developer Update video plus a breakdown of the main issues we're working on right now, from peak time access to the awarding of gold and achievements. Read more here: https://t.co/mQmWUjjiJ8 pic.twitter.com/a9Eq3HNDQ9

One thing that has probably not helped the load is the inclusion of Sea of Thieves in Microsofts Game Pass program. This means a lot of extra players ready to fire it up just to have a look for free, especially as a flagship release for Game Pass. On top of the potentially hundreds of thousands of players frothing to jump on and play Sea of Thieves after the hugely successful stress test streaming, this meant day one meltdown. We have all experienced it, we know it’s a thing, but we all hope that day one is just perfect. With any luck, issues will be resolved soon, or I will just be one of the lucky ones that get in to play this weekend.
Box of fire
The quickest bit of news ever – Dragonfire has arrived! See why I am keen to try Dragonfire here.
I will be looking to play this over the weekend for the first time, maybe two or three times depending on Sea of Thieves issues 😀
The Karate Kid saga continues – 34 years later!
So MANY years ago, I still have memories of enjoying and copping a lot of flack over The Karate Kid. Studying martial arts at the time, enduring all of the ‘Wax On, Wax Off’ jokes got a bit tedious. But for a kid-friendly 80’s movie it was enjoyable at the time, and over time remains a nostalgic watch on the odd occasion. The sequels not so much overall though, until possibly now.
Cobra Kai is an upcoming YouTube Red series that picks up with the original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and protagonist Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) 34 years later. Johnny has fallen on hard times, and Daniel-san has become a car salesman. In a twist that I quite enjoy, the trailer shows Johnny coming to the aid of a bullied teen, potentially becoming the new ‘Miyagi’ after years of growing up. With newfound purpose (the trailer doesn’t say this, but hey they are cliches for a reason) Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai dojo, teaching a new generation of Cobras. This seems to anger Daniel, and an old rivalry reignites.
This time though Daniel seems to be the hot-headed one picking a fight for the sake of fighting, possibly showing how he has lost his way without Mr Miyagi. Again the trailer doesn’t show this explicitly, but with the care that seems to have gone into building this series and use of the original actors, I cannot see a replacement for Pat Morita being bought in.
Cobra Kai premieres May 2nd, but check out the trailer below.
Just let them fight
So today this little movie opens up. You may have heard me talk about it before. There are even games starting to pop up. Something about huge robots punching huge monsters?
I don’t think it will last :p
I am going to try and see this on the weekend. Stupid work commitments on premiere days 🙁
