Welcome to JohnHQLD.com! Thank you so much for checking it out. I’m John, and this is my site. Mainly I will be talking about things that catch my interest, primarily in gaming but sometimes in other fields as well. If there is anything you would like to discuss or would like my thoughts on, leave me a note on the Facebook page or register here to add comments!
Thanks again, and I hope you enjoy the site.
I enjoy almost everything from Restoration Games to date. Stop Thief and Downforce are great games that are still fun. Their latest Kickstarter Fireball Island was a great success. But their latest project takes on 1981’s Dark Tower, and I can’t wait to see what they do with it. Currently being designed by Rob Daviau and Isaac Childers, Return to Dark Castle is slated for a Kickstarter release in 2020.
People sometimes tell me that games like Final Fantasy are too hard because they are ‘Too Grindy’. They look at me like a madman as I laugh, and introduce them to a grinding game with layers upon layers of mechanics with zero documentation. Meet Disgaea, and #sorrynotsorry
Kickstarter has been kind for Board Game adaptions of Video Games. Board games like Dark Souls and Resident Evil 2 have made over $1 Million, and another major Video Game property is about to join them on Kickstarter – Horizon Zero Dawn
Another World had me totally enthralled back in the early 90’s. It had cutscenes (rare for the time) and a unique story that was not told through pages of text. It’s a game I have come back to now and then, especially with the 20th anniversary back in 2011. And now, Another World is on the Switch.
